The second GVGO challenged school children to grow

• the tallest sunflower

• the heaviest pumpkin

• the prettiest vase of calendula

Free seeds were distributed from the VDHS, and children nurtured their plants through the summer.  The results were announced at the Autumn Show on 14 September :

 

Hillside First School - Reception Class won the tallest sunflower at 305cm in height.

Chester Dibben, 5, won the heaviest pumpkin with a whopper at 64.5kg!

Tilly Greensmith, 9, won the prettiest vase of calendula flowers.
